Dr Rhee Serves As The Director Of The Neurosurgical Spine Service At Holy Cross Health
Dr. Rhee graduated with honors in chemistry and history from SUNY Binghamton. He completed his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. His education continued on to Georgetown University Hospital where he completed his residency in Neurological Surgery as well as a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. In addition, he completed a junior instructorship at Johns Hopkins Hospital focusing on the treatment of complex spine pathology, spinal deformity, and spinal oncology. Dr. Rhee has clinical research experience and is published in peer reviewed journals, as well as neurosurgical textbooks. With his expertise, he teaches courses in spinal surgery to orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons alike. He holds membership in the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

A neurological surgeon provides the operative and non-operative management of disorders of the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems, including their supporting structures and vascular supply the evaluation and treatment of pathological processes which modify function or activity of the nervous system and the operative and non-operative management of pain. Aviva Ellenstein, M.D. Ph.D. is a board-certified neurologist and a neuroscientist with advanced training in movement disorders and Parkinsonâs disease. He has received both the Singer and Resident research awards for his original clinical research in neurosurgery. The Dystonia Association awarded Dr. Levine their Humanitarian Award in 2010 for his efforts in the treatment of dystonia. The Washingtonian has awarded Dr. Levine the title of Top Doctor 2005-2021.
