Omh Grant Procurements Intensive Crisis Stabilization Centers

South Carolina suicide prevention nonprofit desperate for funding due to increase in calls

Application Due Date: January 17, 2023 by 1:00 p.m.

The NYS Office of Mental Health and Office of Addiction Services and Supports announce the availability of operational funds and state-aid for the development of three new Intensive Crisis Stabilization Centers within two of the NYS Economic Development Regions . This RFP is a reissuance of the ICSC RFP that was released January 2022. The Offices are seeking to develop two ICSCs within the New York City EDR and one ICSC in the Capital Region EDR. It is expected that the ICSCs will have executed contracts by May 2023 and be operational by August 2023.

The Crisis Stabilization Centers will be jointly certified by the NYS OMH and OASAS. Crisis Stabilization Centers are developed in collaboration with the communities they serve, including Local Mental Hygiene Directors, schools, community providers, law enforcement agencies, and other identified programs, to provide a comprehensive continuum of care for referrals and follow-up.

The Offices encourage all providers to apply who meet the eligibility criteria, including those who operate Peer-led organizations. Eligible applicants are not-for-profit agencies with 501 incorporation or Public Benefit Corporations, who are licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized by OMH, OASAS, or the NYS Department of Health, that have experience providing mental health and substance use treatment services to persons with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

Oasas And Samhsa Rfp Nys Partnership For Success 2022

Application Due Date: December 30, 2022 by 5:00 pm

To address certain gaps in health equity, OASAS and SAMHSA proposes to fund substance use/misuse prevention-focused coalitions to engage vulnerable and isolated communities, who are connected by cultural identity, in developing and implementing environmental change prevention strategies in these communities.

NYS OASAS and SAMHSA will issue up to six awards for a maximum of $175,000 each. Priority will be given to coalitions who serve the following communities: veterans, transitional youth , new Americans , people over the age of 50 years, and/or people with disabilities in New York State. The maximum amount of funds to be awarded is $1,050,000.

Eligible Applicants
  • Not-for-profit community coalitions or not-for-profit agencies that have experience in prevention coalition building but do not currently have county, federal, or state funding for the coalition and its activities.
  • If the coalition does not have 501c 3 status or does not have an established fiscal agent with 501c 3 status, an OASAS-funded provider must be a part of the coalition and act as the fiscal agent for the community coalition.
  • Applicant are required to have or obtain a Unique Entity ID number from SAM.GOV prior to receiving a contract.
  • Proprietary entities are not eligible.

Kohls Team Volunteer Grant Program

Through Kohls Associates in Action Program, Kohls provides grants to nonprofits when groups of employees volunteer together.

A minimum of five employees from one Kohls location must volunteer for no less than three consecutive hours in a single day to receive a $500 Associates in Action grant.

Healthy Community Collaborative Program

The Healthy Community Collaborative programs goals are to help clients with recovery and reintegration within their communities by providing permanent housing and connect clients with support services such as mental health and substance use treatment and employment assistance. Senate Bill 1849, 85th Legislature, 2017, known as the Sandra Bland Act, expanded the program to include community collaborative providers serving two or more counties with a population of less than 100,000 each. The Healthy Community Collaborative Program FY20 report card highlights notable grant information and performance achievements specific to FY20. The report card has an overview of the grant program with performance outcomes and a listing of the program grantees.

Outerwalls Volunteer Grant Program

Outerwall, which is composed of Coinstar, Redbox, and ecoATM, has a volunteer grant program for its employees that will donate up to $600 per employee.

Employees must volunteer for at least 10 hours and can be rewarded for volunteering for up to 40 hours.

Mental Health Planning Council

A mental health planning council ensures collaboration among key state agencies and facilitates consumer input into the states mental health services and activities. The majority of a states planning council should be comprised of consumers and family members.

To ensure coordination among state agencies in mental health planning, the planning council is required to:

  • Include representatives from state education, mental health, rehabilitation, criminal justice, housing, and social services agencies
  • Include adult members who receive mental health services
  • Include family members of children with emotional disturbances

This planning council provides input on the mental health plan submitted to SAMHSA.

Organizations without tax-exempt status may apply through an established non-profit, tax-exempt organization that agrees to provide fiscal oversight.
